Oktoberfest

CA

Old World Village is a unique shopping, dining, art and entertainment center located on 8 acres of land in Huntington Beach. It is best known for hosting Oktoberfest, Huntington Beach’s version of the original Oktoberfest that was first celebrated in 1810 in Bavaria, Germany.

Huntington Beach Oktoberfest is an annual tradition. The event includes entertainment with German bands, dancing and tasty German foods. A variety of German and assorted beers on tap are sold as well as mixed drinks and liqueurs in shot glasses sold by "shot girls" wearing dirndl skirts. German bands, dancing, drinking, kids festivals, adult nights, dachshund races, sauerkraut, sausages and fun are in store for those seeking an ethnic event held in a big Bier Hall.

Within Old World Village is the Old World German Restaurant, which serves traditional German favorites such as sauerbraten, spätzle, rouladen, wienerschnitzel, bratwurst and German goulash. The German grocery store is located in the heart of Old World Village and it also features a German bakery. One of its most popular delicacies is traditional German strudel.

Oktoberfest begins in September and continues to the end of October. Happy hour occurs every Wednesday through Saturday from 3 PM until 6:30 PM and it features $2.00 off on drink specials. Family day features Sunday Kinderfest from 2 PM until 7:30 PM and children under 5 years old are admitted for free. If you wear a dirndl skirt or lederhosen on that day, you also get in free.
