The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is located in Yorba Linda, about 30 minutes away from Costa Mesa. The museum features nearly 70 major exhibits, including a replica of President Nixon’s Oval Office and an informative exhibit on Nixon’s historic 1972 trip to China. It also features more than 46 million pages of documents, 11 original films, 10 different archival film sequences, more than 600 photographs, 8,000 square feet of wall murals and more than 300 artifacts.
On the grounds, visitors can walk through Nixon’s original 1910 farmhouse birthplace, in the same spot where Nixon’s father built it over 100 years ago. Visitors can also climb aboard Marine One, the official presidential helicopter that was used by Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford. The Nixon Library also features an exact replica of the White House East Room, the largest room in the Executive Mansion.
Tickets may be purchased at the door - the cost is $16 for adults, with discounts for seniors, students and veterans. Active-duty military may visit for free.
