Snoopy House at Costa Mesa City Hall
The elaborate Snoopy House holiday display has been a Costa Mesa and Orange County holiday tradition for more than 50 years, attracting an estimated 80,000 visitors annually. In 2011, with the fate of the Snoopy House in jeopardy, the City of Costa Mesa agreed to host the display and provide other assistance. This partnership with the Jordan family saved the holiday tradition, provided an even larger venue for it and additional features including nightly live music and free train rides for children.
Snoopy House, which features holiday scenes populated by "Peanuts" characters, is available for viewing from 5:30 to 9 p.m. nightly from December 13 through December 22 in front of Costa Mesa City Hall. Santa will make special visits nightly beginning at 6. Children and their families will have opportunities to receive free photos with Santa. Opening night includes a formal presentation beginning at 5 p.m.
In addition to train rides, visitors to Snoopy House can hear two performances each evening by local Costa Mesa schools or groups. Past acts have included choirs, bands and dance groups.
The city is also offering fundraising opportunities to nonprofit youth groups to sell beverages and snacks.
