Conductor Robert Istad leads Pacific Chorale, along with cellist Warren Hagerty and percussionist Sangyoun Park for an exciting program featuring soprano Aundi Marie Moore. The performance begins with a triple choir and percussion piece by South Korean composer Hyo-Won Woo, followed by the world premiere of Tarik O’Regan’s “The Stillness Chained.” Then, a new cantata for soprano, cello and choir from Damien Geter that intertwines Bach and African American spirituals. The evening concludes with Rachmaninoff’s transcendent Vespers, inspired by Russian Orthodox chant and richly harmonized to display the best of Pacific Chorale.
