The Orange County Marathon returns for its 15th year! The course passes through Costa Mesa, Newport and Santa Ana. There is a full-marathon, half-marathon, 5k and kids' run. Complimentary shuttle service to the race is offered through select Costa Mesa hotels.
The official OC Marathon Event festivities begin on Saturday, May 4 with the Kids Run the OC one-mile run in the morning and the 5K taking place on Saturday at 5 p.m.
The OC Marathon Running Festival draw more than 20,000 participants from 43 states and 20 countries, and welcomes athletes of all ages and abilities to participate. This includes nearly 10,000 students from 115 schools in Orange County who participate in Kids Run the OC.
The 26.2-mile full marathon course starts on Newport Center Drive loop in front of the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa and travels through the beautiful coastal communities of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. The first mile of the marathon course includes a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean before winding through the seaside village of Corona del Mar including the spectacular Ocean Boulevard with views of Corona del Mar State Beach. The course traverses past the Newport Harbor Yacht Clubs and the boats in Newport Harbor with views of Balboa Island. Marathoners continue into the heart of Costa Mesa, passing by the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, South Coast Plaza, then traveling into Santa Ana and onto the Santa Ana River Trail exiting by Moon Park to the home stretch toward the OC Fair & Event Center.
