Founded in San Diego in the 1980s, Karl Strauss Brewery is one of the pioneers of the craft beer movement. Since then, the San Dieogo brewery has expanded to several restaurants and tasting rooms in Southern California. Costa Mesa's bar and restaurant features the full eclectic list of the brewery's core beers as well as small batch and seasonal and limited releases. The restaurant was redesigned in 2016 to create a modern and relaxed atmosphere perfect for lunch, dinner or just catching up with friends over a beer.
The restaurant's menu is as eclectic as the Karl Strauss beer selection with everything from "beer bites" and share plates like duck fat pretzel fries and asada fries to main plates like barbecue ribs, sandwiches, tacos, sausages, three different types of mac and cheese, and half a dozen burgers.
The restaurant offers a Beer O'Clock Monday through Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m., when beers on tap and flights are $5.
