Posted on November 13, 2013 | 4:40pm

With performances by comedy legend Martin Short and Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the duo behind the hit TV series MythBusters, next week is going to be an unforgettable one at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.

As the leader in the performing arts in Orange County, SCFTA is the premier venue in OC to see the world’s top talent on stage.  From dance companies to Broadway musical productions, and everything in between – if it’s a staged performance in OC, SCFTA is the place to see it.

Intergalactic Nemesis Book Two: Robot Planet Rising

Posted on November 6, 2013 | 3:36pm

The Intergalactic Nemesis returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts with Book Two: Robot Planet Rising in the Samueli Theater.  The sequel to last season’s hit show picks up two weeks after the end of book one with the adventures of Molly Sloan and Timmy Mendez.

The star of the show is the storytelling method in this visually striking performance.  Intergalactic Nemesis combines radio-style storytelling drama with over 1,000 comic book visuals.  The show takes the original artwork from the comic book and projects the images onto a two-story high video screen.  Three actors provide the voices for all of the characters; one performer creates all of the sound effects while a keyboardist provides the score.

Fluff Ice in Costa Mesa

Posted on November 5, 2013 | 11:37am

Fluff Ice, which opened in the Marquee Costa Mesa center over the weekend, is a unique ice treat that has a soft texture, light taste and big flavor.  Don’t confuse Fluff Ice with frozen yogurt, and it certainly isn’t your typical shaved ice.  It’s light, airy and bursting with flavor.   The specialty Fluff Ice offers familiar flavors in a fusion of Asian and non-Asian elements that create the one-of-a-kind dessert.

A Look Inside Dantian Studio in Costa Mesa

Posted on November 1, 2013 | 11:08am

My recent visit to Dantian Studio in Costa Mesa made me reevaluate my definition of health and wellness. At Dantian, modern western technological health and wellness methods are practiced along with various holistic approaches.  Admittedly, I am far from an expert in this realm, but to learn about some of the services available has piqued my interest in furthering my education in alternative health options.

3×30 Yoga at The CAMP in Costa Mesa

Posted on October 28, 2013 | 2:40pm

3×30 Yoga is a new studio that offers guests a wide range  of difficulty levels and multiple styles.  The name comes from their concept that three, thirty-minute-long yoga classes per week will change your life.  At 3×30, the belief is not about how much you sweat during your workout, but rather, the consistency in which it is performed.  The quick classes at 3×30 Yoga are perfect for people with busy schedules.
