plan for vacation day Costa Mesa

Dear Californians, we need a vacation. In 2016, we left 90 million vacation days unused. Many of those weren’t paid out or rolled over to the next year. Taking vacations, no matter how big or small, is proven to improve mental and physical health as well as productivity and positivity in the workplace. So why are we avoiding it?

January 30th is National Plan for Vacation Day. It’s a day dedicated to getting us all out of our cubicles and into the world. Will you plan with us?

Taking advantage of your vacation days doesn’t have to mean extravagant international travel. A weekend spent just a few hours from home can be enough to feel refreshed and recharged. With its central location in Orange County, Costa Mesa is the perfect place for a weekend vacation.

Stay in one of Costa Mesa’s 11 outstanding hotels. Whether you’re looking for proximity to Broadway theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, which brings “Hamilton” to Orange County in 2018, or to one of OC’s spectacular beaches, the city has an ideal hotel for every traveler and budget.

OC Fair & Event Center Costa Mesa

Play in the City of the ArtsTM . Spend the morning on our self-guided Art Walk. Join us when Cirque du Soleil debuts LUZIA in Orange County. Or, take a family tour of Centennial Farm at the OC Fair & Event Center or plan to come in the summer months for the Orange County Fair, one of Southern California’s best family-friendly events. For the active traveler, many Costa Mesa hotels offer complimentary yoga mats in addition to their gym offerings, and several are near walking and biking trails. Whatever you choose, be sure to check our calendar of events throughout the year to help you plan!

costa mesa restaurants

Eat at some of the best restaurants in Southern California. Costa Mesa is the culinary haven of Orange County, with everything from classic fine dining to casual chic eateries. Try fine dining at Mastro’s Steakhouse or “Top Chef” contestant Amar Santana’s Spanish-inspired Vaca, or head to the sometimes quirky and always exceptional restaurants along Costa Mesa’s 17th Street corridor.

costa mesa shopping

Shop luxury brands or unique boutiques at one of Costa Mesa’s many shopping locales. Immerse yourself in retail therapy at South Coast Plaza, one of the world’s premier shopping destinations with the most luxury brands under one roof. For boutique shopping, SOCO and the OC MIX, The CAMP and The LAB offer a diverse range of local small businesses from clothing to home goods.
