With performances by comedy legend Martin Short and Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the duo behind the hit TV series MythBusters, next week is going to be an unforgettable one at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.
As the leader in the performing arts in Orange County, SCFTA is the premier venue in OC to see the world’s top talent on stage. From dance companies to Broadway musical productions, and everything in between – if it’s a staged performance in OC, SCFTA is the place to see it.
Next week will bring two shows that aren’t “typical” SCFTA productions. On Thursday, November 21 Martin Short will make his Center debut in a one-night-only performance of his acclaimed one-man show “An Evening with Martin Short.” In the performance, Short will use skits, songs, dance and impersonations to bring some of his most beloved characters to life. From his breakout season on Saturday Night Live almost 30 years ago to present day, Short’s incredible career spans TV, film and theater. The show will be a great opportunity to see a true performing legend.
From the minds of Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the stars of the Emmy nominated Discovery channel series, “MythBusters,” comes the “MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour.” This all-new live show features on-stage experiments, audience participation, video and some behind-the-scenes stories. Some audience members will even get to join the guys on stage. Savage and Hyneman bring the same energy, curiosity and enthusiasm to the stage as they do on the TV show. For over 10 years, the MythBusters team has been avid spokesmen for applying science to real life and doing so by having fun! Behind the Myths debuts at SCFTA for a one-night-only performance on Saturday, November 23.
