Independence Day is a particularly spectacular holiday to spend in Orange County. Whether you want to take in some beachside fireworks, the West Coast’s largest parade or performances by internationally recognized musicians, Costa Mesa is the ideal location for your Orange County Fourth of July stay!

Before the festivities even begin, stop by SOCO and The OC Mix to enjoy We Olive & Wine Bar’s Wine, Cheese and Olive Oil night on Tuesday from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. You’ll have a chance to sample five perfectly paired wines, cheeses and olive oils curated by sommelier Welsey Kollar and The Cheese Shop.

Then on Wednesday, begin the morning with a short drive from your hotel to the annual Huntington Beach Fourth of July parade. As the largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi, it’s the perfect way to kick off your Orange County Fourth of July celebrations!

As the sun begins to set, it’s time to take in a one-of-a-kind concert with Orange County’s Pacific Symphony’s July 4th Spectacular featuring Chicago cover band Brass Transit at the Pacific Amphitheatre. Brass Transit, backed by the symphony, will play some of the band Chicago’s greatest hits before the symphony closes the show with a few lively patriotic songs and a dazzling firework display. Guests are allowed to bring picnic meals and blankets to watch the show, or purchase food and drinks on-site.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly hotel near the Pacific Symphony festivities, check out the Best Western Plus, Holiday Inn Express & Suites or OC Hotel. They are all located near the Pacific Amphitheatre and conveniently near Newport and Huntington Beaches.

Stick around for the rest of the weekend and enjoy a free outdoor concert at Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ Argyros Plaza on Friday as part of the center’s Summer Jazz series. You’ll hear from internationally acclaimed singer and pianist Carol Welsman while you sip cocktails from the Center 360 bar and enjoy the newly renovated plaza.

There’s plenty more to explore in Costa Mesa, too! The city is full of events and activities, throughout the weekend and summer season. Families can explore Centennial Farm, a three-acre working farm with fruit and vegetable gardens and livestock, open to the public seven days a week. Or, explore some of the options for Costa Mesa shopping like South Coast Plaza, The LAB, The CAMP and SOCO and The OC Mix. All four offer something unique for everyone!

When planning your Orange County Fourth of July weekend, we recommend turning it into a weekend getaway in the heart of the region. There’s nothing better than staying just minutes from award-winning dining, fabulous beaches and internationally recognized shopping in Costa Mesa. Find great 4th of July hotel deals in Orange County.
