Evita at Segerstrom Center for the Arts

Posted on December 12, 2013 | 3:48pm | Travel Costa Mesa

One of the most beloved Broadway musicals of all time, Evita, returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.  The Tony® Award winning show by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber tells the incredible true story of Eva Perón and her rise from the underprivileged streets of Argentina to the presidential mansion as the first lady.

Perón became one of the most powerful women in the world, fighting for rights for the poor, until her health problems cut her life short.  Her remarkable story is showcased with an incredible score filled with favorites like “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” Another Suitcase in Another Hall” and “High Flying, Adored.”

Segerstrom Center for the Arts encourages audiences to engage with each of the performances not just during the show, but before too, with pre-show activities.

Before each show, guests have an opportunity to write their wishes and dreams down on specially made cards and add them to the Dream Wall.  The wall was inspired by the song “And the Money Kept Rolling In (and Out)” and will be on public display for the duration of Evita’s run at the Center. Guests can also take advantage of a fun photo opportunity by recreating the iconic balcony scene.  Try for an exact replica, or make it your own, either way it’s a fun way to pretend you are the star of the show.
