The Costa Mesa 60th Anniversary was a three-day festival of music, food, art and more in the City of the Arts. To celebrate, Fair Drive was turned into a pedestrian-only thoroughfare occupied by locals vendors, rides and games.Artists had displays and created new works during the event while musical acts took to the stage. Festival goers enjoyed bites from local restaurants and beat the heat with some cold brews.Sixty years after its incorporation into Orange County, Costa Mesa continues to be a leader in OC arts and entertainment. With the OC Fair starting in less than two weeks, the 60th Anniversary has us eagerly anticipating its start! The celebratory weekend marked a milestone in the history of the city and is just the beginning of many great summer events. Attending activities in Costa Mesa doesn’t have to lighten your wallet. There are some free events, like the Concerts in the Park at Fairview Park and Movie Mondays at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, that are a perfect way to enjoy a summer night.See some of the images of the celebration below, and be sure to check the TravelCostaMesa.com calendar for all upcoming events. All summer we will preview and attend events and cover them on this blog, with our “Man About Town” YouTube videos and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We’re giving away free tickets to the OC Fair! Tell us what you’re most excited for at the fair and tweet it to @TravelCostaMesa with #MyOCF2013.
